Paste Paper Materials
-- Large water container -- e.g. bucket or cut-off gallon milk jug
-- Arches Text Wove, or any other paper you want to try, Canson in colors, Arches cover in Black, 1/4 sheets are a good size
I've ordered lots of sheets of Arches Text Wove for anyone who wants to buy them from me that morning ($5/sheet, size: 25x40")
-- acrylic matte medium -- small container (this is important if you want to letter on your paste papers. I have a large bottle so don't worry if you don't have this)
-- small cups in which to mix paste with pigment -- yogurt cups or plastic, disposable drink cups
-- plastic mixing spoons or stirrers, 6 or more
-- sponges, kitchen type are fine, three should suffice
-- 3 or more tubes of acrylic paint (Liquitex or Golden Brands), or dry pigments, any other paints you want to try
-- mark making tools -- e.g. comb, color shapers, wallpaper tool, sticks, rubber stamps, nylon scrubbers, pastel sticks, crayons, toothbrush, Coit pens, anything that could create a cool texture
-- some newspapers for drying
-- medical, disposable gloves if you don't want to get messy
--
small table if you have one (I have all the tables from class so it just depends on how many show up if you need to bring one.)
--an 18" x 24" piece of acrylic plexiglass or masonite covered with plastic contact paper to work your paper on
--your lunch if you think you'll want to stay late & work. This isn't a typical study group. Some of us use this day every year to create a stash of papers that we use all year.
I will supply the paste.
If you do not have something, not to worry, between us all we will have what we need for the day. I have recipes for paste from Nancy Culmone I can give to anyone who wants one.
